Scholarships



National Association for Legal Secretaries of Michigan
The National Association for Legal Secretaries (NALS) of Michigan presents one $1,000 nonrenewable tuition / books-only scholarship to someone enrolled in a school of advanced education in the legal field on an annual basis. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic or legal career achievements, future career goals, demonstration of financial need, and leadership ability. the scholarship award may be granted to any qualified applicants in the legal field.

The candidate must: be enrolled in a school of advanced education (including the current school year) or a NALS of Michigan member; have at least a B average; be in need of financial assistance; and be able to enroll in the Fall term. Those candidates nominated in prior years who meet current qualifications are eligible for renomination. The application and all required attachments must be submitted, on the forms provided, to the NALS of Michigan Scholarship Fund Chairman and be postmarked by the deadline date. Any application postmarked after that date will be disqualified. National Association for Legal Secretaries of Detroit
The Detroit chapter of NALS presents two $500 nonrenewable tuition / books-only scholarships on an annual basis. As with the scholarship from NALS of Michigan, you must show the same requirements: enrolled currently in a school of advanced education; have at least a B average; be in need of financial assistance; and be able to enroll in the Fall term. Although, the application and all required attachments generally have a different deadline date than that of the state. For more information, please visit the website at http://www.nalsofdetroit.org

Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX)
As an academic institution with an LEX chapter, academically qualified students (B average or above) are eligible to apply for five $500 awards each year. Submit all application materials in time to reach AAfPE by the deadline. All applications must be received by mail with original signatures on the certification form. The application package must include the following materials:
  • Completed / typed application
  • Signed scholarship certification form
  • Transcript showing at least a B average
  • A letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • 500 word typed essay
